The forum has been very quiet these last few weeks. However, IRC has always got people talking on it. I'm thinking that a very quiet forum is a big turn off for anybody checking out the shard as it makes us seem like nothing is going on.
I was thinking it could be a good idea to have any issues resolved or any UO based discussions on IRC minuted on the forum. There could be a script implemented so staff could send a command and the last however many lines from IRC could be saved and posted on the forum (maybe to a secure section that staff could edit and repost for everybody).
Just thinking that there are lots of answers to questions and debates going unrecorded on the forum which would be useful and would show how busy and productive the shard is becoming.
