thats whinning. everyone wont quit if theres an item wipe. maybe you northlands but that may just please 80% of the player base. But Prome i think its a good idea, would balance out everything. and make it fair for everyone else..but i wouldnt say another wipe after the 2nd age. mostly because the shard has been out long enough by then.

Even though id love to see that happen. (Norhtlands part) There are alot of items id love to keep..and not have to try and find again lol..its a tough decision. but i will back you in whatever decision you make prome. theres alot of pros and cons to that decision.

payne, I played on mages without lvl 6 melee prots. So I did on rangers. And I still think lvl 6 prots are overpowered. They are way too good, and such a good item shouldnt be that easy to find.

mcfly, I appreciate your tips but, believe me, I've played this game long enough to know the options I have during a pvp . Also, what you said about Warrior > Ranger isnt true anymore. Who would play a ranger without magery on today's shard? No one would, I'm pretty sure. So all a ranger needs today is dispel the poor warrior that cant dispel others with blackrock weapons anymore.

This whole discussion should be a lot bigger than it is now. I think that going to the second age is a great opportunity to fix whatever was broken in the first age. I'm pretty sure a lot of players have suggestions to improve the gameplay and thats the best time to discuss them. Also, about the wipe, I think it's necessary when big changes, as the removal of lvl 6 prots for example, are introduced. Besides fairness, it's a chance to deliver a better gameplay experience for everyone. So instead of thinking that things will be worse without your items, think that the whole shard will be better .

Just another suggestion, what about bringing back blackrock, void, perma poison and assassins weapons?
I know they are overpowered, but what about tweaking them?

not that im in Northlands too .. but still i wouldnt suggest item wipe...
cause .. some ppl say its fair about other ppl .. but lol .. its not like my fault that ppl .. who started later when maby half of us and havent got such skills, gear and items like ppl who started from the beginning .. worked theyr asses off ... and now just loosing all because some ppl who have played like 3 weeks are whining that its not fair

i only would suggest to make prots/gm items/xara/omeros/books even mods more harder to find ... as i got like tons on gm items .. and not fun .. if u kill mob ... and most of the loot is dev, invincibility etc ...
wuld like too see ppl running around with vang weaps or as like someone hunts .. makes id and says in .chat Woot .. stygyan kryss of vang or something ...
my point is to low all items lower lower lower to find ... would make ppl more to hunt ...
as atm ... i only hunt for items that are hard to find .. as xara/omeros books ... that makes my hunt interesting only atm .. that might i got luck now and can find any of em ...
i dont even loot those dev etc items not to talk about gm items ...
as lots off ppl hunt with gm sets then my idea is to make em harder to find aswell ..
and not to talk about adamantine clothing...
as about prots .. ye .. really need to lower this drop rate ...
as im looking for lvl 3 fire prot for inferno ... lol its like hard to find .. because most of em att .. immunity, attunement or absorbsion lol not cool :=)

and let us older 1st age ppl keep the items .. so after 2nd age .. those items would be nice .. and ppl would gladly want to pvp someone .. to get those items as they are pretty rare

I see your point rast, but wouldn't that make the new people whine even more? (I get your point of we've been here longer and therefor have the right to better stuff?) It will make the economy really really bad, when all the prot 6 items/books/stat mods/stygain dev weps are owned by the vets, the bitching would be endless then.
Such was the case in a runuo shard when LTOTS equivalent to some rare item no longer dropped any more-the vets had them noobies didn't, noobs never stopped bitchin'.
So thats why if your going to do something about drop rate I think you have to go extreme.

Old players would be like immortals. With all their lvl 6 prots, stygian devas, mods and such.

The main problem with prots is that they are too good. Either make them rarer or just tweak them. Just an example: a warrior with a lvl 4 water prot takes no dmg from Ice Strike even if it was casted by a lvl 4 mage. Thats kind of weird. Maybe prots should only take off a percent of the dmg the player would get. Tanking off 100% of the damage doesnt seem to be a good idea.

With loot, me and Dekar were talking, I'm going keep the droprate of prots where they are, but reduce the drop rate of a lot of the highest level items. This will enable players to keep hunting whilst also making rare items rare again, give players a reason to keep hunting.

GM Armor needs to be dropped especially, and will be dropped next restart. At the moment I'm stalking players and watching them not even loot pieces of GM Armor. Clearly that's not how a shard should operate. Sages droprate has been cut now too, although I don't think GM Weapons need to be dropped particularly, it's still difficult to find the best ones (Kieri, Prometheus, Lothian etc.).

When the 2nd Age rolls around I think we'll bring out a GM bow also, which uses normal arrows. Evoker needs a GM weapon named after him
