some people enjoy a bit of a difference in their characters and arent just aiming to be the best killer of other people on the shard (which i might like to add isnt very helpful to a a small player base thats trying to evolve and expand). so someone may want to be a thief, and if they do its going to be annoying to try if peeps have complete poison proof items. and for you payne if its so easy to carry loads of potions then it wont matter to you if the the poison proof items are taken away.

The thief class isn't geared towards Player vs Player... killing other players (and monsters) with poisoning is more like a 3rd party deal. You poison items that other classes use (weapons, food, etc.). Thief: - stealing from NPCS (oh boy) - snooping NPCs (how exciting) - Poisoning weapons (4-5 level might hurt someone) - Poisoning food (massive quantity "heal" macro?) Macro macro macro... In a few years, when ya hit 4th level.. maybe when "3rd Age" comes out and all protection items are gone.. maybe then all the macroing will seem worthwhile.

Y'know, "kewldude" (I'm not taking my time with leetspeak, I'm above it), I've followed your posts for awhile, you're rather rude. As for thieves and pvp? You clearly haven't been a uo player for long, a thief with archery is one of the deadliest things you can see as a player. Back in the zh3 era (as it's the only one I'm aware of) There was a particular thief that killed many unsuspecting players in Britain. Green Spirit, Green Arrow, I'm not sure, it was Green something though. I simply feel the negative responses towards thief poisoned weapons still doing a bit of damage to protted people, is a sign of fear. I mean come on... poisoning mod items are even called "Assassin's" items. Open mouth; insert food, now please.

Actually I have been around Ultima since before you where born.
Thief classes in old ZHC was an awesome class.. but HERE.. this server.. not Dean's Zulu.. THIS server, where you can't Snoop or Steal from other players... hell give a thief a Scalpel of Trevize and maybe level 4 poison... then you'd have a character.
But then again, why bother with playing a thief anyways, since you'd be better off just getting the item poisoned to begin with.
Don't assume just because the server gives you a staff position that you now inherintly know more about the game then anyone else.. it just means you like to kiss ass.
.. Counselor positions are for lame people that aren't trusted with power.. so better pucker them lips up a bit more.
Not to mention this Leet speak, "faty".. learn to spell yrself before trying to throw punches at how other people spell.. that in itself just makes you look retarted.

Yeah, not to mention, that Green Jackass was banned at least 3 times for cheating, bugabuse and rulebreaking.

My point is, thieves are taken far too lightly, they're quite deadly. As for 'playing uo since I was born" UO isn't more than 23 years old. Kthnxkillyerself.

Ultima was officially released in 97, but it was in beta since 83 (closed beta), and some people where actually in Beta. So that would make it of been around for 27 years.. So k, go watch some more gay porn. Anyways, this here is why Ultima gets boring.. topics go in many directions because everyone starts flaming each other. Personally, I like griefing on other players.. that's why I like playing a thief character. To hide and snoop and steal from other players is a lot of fun. Being able to Hide outside of a house, sneak in (undetected) and steal a few things, then sneak back out.. that's loads of fun. .. But you're not allowed to PK people inside player houses, you can't snoop or steal from players... so basically ALL you can do as a thief is to use "poison"... LAME.. LAIM.. LaMe.. Lam3... whatever you want to leet it up to.. its all rather pathetic. I don't mind checking out the occasional Ultima Online server, but the fun I had with Zuluhotel (canada) way back in the day is for the most part gone. Anyone up for sum PS3 COD Black Ops? Post yr PS3 name and prepare to get fragged!

Dude, it would be funny, if it wouldnt be so stupid. There is a huge gap between Ultima series and Ultima Online. And btw, development of UO started in 95. There was no "closed beta", nor even "closed alpha" be4 that, since there were no game engine at this time - in simple terms - there were nothing to test.

why not make it so u still ge poisoned from theif psn but if u wear a prot it takes less dmg and is easier to cure ... coz a prot item is a prot item so ofc it should help but then ppl who dont have a psn prot on will be in big trouble if a thief psn them ...
then maby ppl will start to wear psn prot more often coz right now its a prot that not alot of ppl use ...

I used them religiously when my warrior was geared, saves alot of trouble in terms of healing damage. Then again, people overlook the obvious forms of helping oneself.
