My PC died so I haven't updated the website in a while, as you all can see! I was going to apply some thermal paste to my CPU heatsink thingamy and I basically ended up destroying my CPU, with all the little metal prongs bent and fucked I haven't had enough money, what with getting married, going on honeymoon and moving house (!!!) but soon I'll have a new PC and get working on it again.

Umm why did you remove the CPU from your motherboard? To apply thermalpaste you only need to remove the heatsink! (Artic silver = best)

(Artic silver = best) That's what I was doing, but somehow the CPU had attached itself to the heatsink and came out when I tried to remove it It was a shit computer anyway, like 8 years old, held together by gravity. Sleep well sweet prince.

I usually replace thermal paste every year, while performing regular maintenance(taking PC apart and cleaning). Once saw cooler and cpu fused together. Thermal paste were replaced like never and in ~10 years it completely dryed out and were more cementlike, separating cpu and cooler were impossible.
