I just added to my list another idea about cutting gp from high end mobs by at least half, since there isnt much use for gp anyways for chars that are developed to decent levels. But it seems im a bit 2 late. Completely removing gp from SDs loot seemed a bit extreme at first, but after some consideration id say its great idea - so this way for gp youd have to hunt other mobs. So that for good stuff is one type of mobs, for gp another. Id say remove gp from all mobs up from undead flayer or even black wisp.

I did that last night, but I think we'll keep gold dropping on UFs and Black Wisps for now.
To re-balance the economy again I've really got to address how crafters make their millions too.

i think it's a bad idea, personally. What's the point? Those who already have gold just have it even easier. Add this with these macro checks and you've basically got a bunch of awesome characters and new characters who have no way to compete with them. :\

Stupidiest way to do things ever. Pretty much same as - theres one cheater, lets allow then cheats to every1, 1 person got it alredy anyway. Prom could do a gold wipe for all that i care. That maybe would balance things a bit. But as it was alredy sayd - crafters + easy millions = bad. So it needs to be adressed first. Besides, all that talk about new vs avesome chars is just rubbish - considering nomacro limit, then one can get a decent char in about 2 weeks. And it 4-5 of those band togethr, then they can take on any combo of existing older high level chars, but thats alredy activity and amount of players issue.

This idea won't work. I think that a lot of us remember this kind of ideas being implemented on other servers and they simply didn't work. I think we should learn form the past and try to come up with better solutions, instead of making the same mistakes other developers have made about 5-7 years ago. As Fury once said, it is impossible to have a balanced the economy if you don't have a gold sink. You can sell consumables at a higher price on vendors, you can lower the amount of gold being dropped from monsters, you can even make crafters sell their crafted items for 1gp at the vendors, and it won't create a balanced economy. I've seen this on another server and guess what? Just a few months after they did an item wipe and implemented ideas just like the ones proposed here, that server's economy was broken again!! It's not about making it harder for players to get gold, but finding ways to make them happily and constantly spend their gold (the money sink Fury talked about)! There are plenty of ways to create gold sinks... I think I could just describe a few right now, but does it matter that much? During 80% of the time we play we are either hunting or fighting other players and I don't think there is anyone that hunts to save gold or kill another player for gold. Instead we are looking for itens all the time! We hunt and try to kill other players to get their items and become stronger (this is an item based server so getting better items is the best way to get stronger)! So I think we should just leave the gold as it is right now and focus on more important problems, like improving the pvm and pvp systems, finding and item sink[1], and improving other aspects of the endgame, instead of worrying about the not so big problems that affect mainly the already stressing early game.
[1] Itens are way more important to the economy than gold (this is an item based server! players rarely sell stuff, they trade stuff!) and it's impossible to have a balanced economy if players just accumulate itens in their cool houses or bank secures. There must be a way to make players happily loose their itens!

wipe all the items and set gm weapon gm armor gm item and swift deva like omero pickaxe
its the only way
do a very good loot on monsters like golden dragons,balrog ecc but make quite impossible to be killed by one player

Gold sink is good, but 1 thing is to talk about it, completely anoher to propose something workable. Even i have a couple of idea of my own, how to sypnon extra gp. About .auc . Idea is good, but if memory serves me well, its buggy as hell and there isnt much ppl online. So unless .auc will be set to something like 24h for item(and 5min extention per bid, auctioner takes 10% of money payd), there really isnt much point.
