Sorry mate, you were one of the most dedicated players here for sure, but the shard died and it seemed wrong to keep it going and just fade away.

It cost me GBP£55 a month to run this place Borky. We were online for 15 months. That's £855.
I think I made a net loss of about £50 running the shard over 15 months. Plus I dedicated most of what little free time I had.
That's all technicalities though. The shard died, it wasn't worth continuing from a gameplay perspective let alone finances.

if i ever move and get a decent connection (and possibly rebuild my computer someone tell me specs) i want to host nagashizar. it's not zuluhotel, but zuluhotel is boring as heck anyway. POL is a buggy mess, RunUO rules.

The specs are still listed on website (that's now inaccessible unless you go to the direct URL). www.zhfactions.com/links.htmlPersonally I could've used a better processor, but it did the job ok.

Does it help if you use a multicore or dualcore? With old POL it probably only uses 1 I guess..

Considering how old this game is, you can run it without problems even on 800 celeron, UO servers need mostly memory. And my guess would be that older versions wont even recognize multicores.

What about script lag then? Isnt that because of CPU problems?

I think the important thing to note is that it works perfectly on the specs we had.
The only reason I'd upgrade the CPU is because, when I remotely connected to the server, it was very slow to respond whilst the shard was running - and I'd put that down to CPU instead of RAM but maybe I'm wrong.
