Im not a big fan of the no recall, but its not enough to make me quit right away. But i do know one that will frustrate me is if im out hunting and something comes up and i have to get offline without bringing myself to a town for safety and theres that delay where you character stays logged in for a few mins and someone just happens to get there before im completely gone and i get killed. I have no way to defend myself or escape. I like the escape recall idea but maybe make the delay of use longer then an hour. so then people dont go hunt recall macro for an hour then go hunt. maybe an every 6-8 hour delay. Would just suck to log in and find out you were killed while being logged off. If the escape recall thing is not gonna happen, maybe look into shortning the Delay time on logging off.

Or you could make bedrolls (for those who don't know it gives an auto-log feature when used) not require a skillcheck (requires camping atm), they'd have to use it and remain still for 10 seconds, but they'd have a secure feeling when they have to abruptly leave the game mid-forest.

What about another option in the help gump that when choosed will automaticly teleports you to a safe area. With a delay of 1 min waiting between the time u choosed the option and the time you trully are teleported.
Would help :
1: People from being physically stuck with or without staff online (since you guys can take time before answering pages)
2: A certain way of going to somewhere safe when you really are far from town like hyloth which takes at least 10 min of somewhere safe. Uo is a game and sometimes during our playtime things happen and we got to leave quickly so pushing a button and wait 1 min before leaving would be awesome.
The teleport could be used only once in a while again so the players could not abuse from it.
In my opinion i like the idea of not being able to recall but we have to stay logical. There has to be a between no recall and full recall.

I actually have to side with Lorth. I have had to run during hunts or whatnot more than once and im just lucky I got some hiding fish with me at all times otherwise i'd be doomed. Aswell as hunts that gets longer than expected has made me come late to certain appointments. Somekind of 1 minute cast-time Recall stone to the town of your choosing would just be ace.

Man I was excited when I found this server after playing zh2 back in the day, but now reading the forums at work... no recall?? That's crazy imo.... I'm also assuming that gate travel doesn't work? At least put gate in.
I'm not sure if this will make me stop playing, but it seems like in a few weeks it might. I've ran around the world of UO for many years... it was fun back in the old pret2a days on osi.. but not anymore.

I concer. This would allow house placement better options instead of placing houses by moongates. It can be something like a 20-30second cast time where you cant move or do anything so people can't abuse it to escape from a battle.

Aye but that's not why recalling is restricted. It's to create bottlenecks of activity, at city gates, where players interact, to infuse places with identity and add to the mystery of the shard.

the wide world of ultima isn't that large. I can run anywhere from anywhere with in 10 min i'm sure, and obviously i'm not mose's so i wont be parting the sea's but on the normal aos map the towns dungeons and gy are all very easily to get to. About 99% of us have been playing this game off and on for the last 11, 12 years, i highly doubt anyone ever gets lost. its the shards who have customeized maps that becomes the problem. I personally like the fact you cant recal or gate travel. i won't have to worry about ppl running away and disappearing, or just opening a gate and in enters a whole faction to destroy u. if you could cast gates the wars would def be one sided. specially if your town wasnt very well guarded. Factions would just recal in, surprise, and leave.
