More People on the shard-The more the merry-Please give me ideas to help market the shard and I will try to help out-besides vote for top 200 or ask your old UO buddies to come join.
Better town system-Currently I love the idea, but that being said its a bunch of player made houses with guard zone and a bank. Theres no "unique" feature about any one town. I see vast potential here in creating buildings that are not pre-built; such as Sacrifices buildings all would have one type of style and Northlands would have another. What about shipping docks? I think its possible to make tiles on the water to create this effect. Since it seems like its HELLA easy to make money on this shard I don't reccomend being able to buy certain things for towns-this will create all the towns having the same things eventually. Instead for these weekly events have a certain prize for the town as in you get a custom built building or a statue. I disagree with the one week "faction war" in theory its good with a lot of palyers constantly interacting, but with limited numbers a "war" should function more of a "battle" Siege this town and getting certain points for certain deeds. A few for now-I'll say more of my opinions as I get them. Thanks for reading!
PS: Zulu Hotel with a new look: 20 new regional resources, extended player town options, lots of new features add mystery, legacy, identity. I don't like it... Its not appealing at all.. I think we should discuss on how to make your one chance to get random people looking to play UO or a ZULU shard for the first time choose your link rather then a shard with 500+ people on it. First thing that jumped out at me was the teamwork it takes to take down some of these dungeons the difficulty of not being able to go into a dungeon and rape your way through it like in the majority of RUNUO shards where you wack at a artifact boss 24 hours a day.

You clicked it, did you not? While there are, as you said, servers with 500+. They are run uo servers, which grow old quickly. We offer more, we offer different. Non-corrupt staff (show me a runuo shard with those bragging rights, and I'll show you a lie.) Truth be told, Pol servers are scarce. Yet it's the only servercore to date that offers a class system with class benefits, excluding one system I saw for the sphere core, which was only on one server, and that server is obsolete, as Sphere has a nasty habit of gobbling mounts. Your opinion is but one, you may not like it, that's your bag, people have different tastes. The idea of buying stuff for towns is to counterract the ease of making money, what else would you spend it on? Also, there are town uniqueness ideas being toyed with. Not to mention, some towns have merchant's others have, some towns are noticeable larger than other player created towns (cough, Sacrifice represent! cough /end shameless plug.) The idea of a player designed town is a uniqueness all in itself. The fact that only a few of the static towns are populated, leaving the rest to players, unique. We're a player driven server, that's EXTREMELY unique.
Don't question our diverse community. We have new suggestions brought to the table daily by we, the players, the creators of our own personal Sosaria. We're not ZHC, We're not ZHS, We're not ZHA. We Are ZHF, and I don't mean those pussy French.
P.S. Your town suggestions is less of a suggestion, and more of a total overhaul.

I didn't click the link sadly. I played Zulu shards before and knew what they were about, so I googled Zulu Hotel Ultima Online and went down the list.
As for a total overhaul or not its still a suggestion so I don't understand what you mean by less of a suggestion-its just that an opionated suggestion.
What do larger towns mean? It just means a larger guarded area perhaps and more of the same housing. If your idea of "uniqueness" is to make a town with a bunch of houses in it whats the point-to say you have money and you bought all the stuff in there OR would it be better to say hey look I got this, this, and this from beating your crappy town into the ground. I would choose the ladder. Your right in the fact that the shards strongest asset I believe are the players and the staff. The ability for staff not to make this shard a "set it and forget it" will be vital to its expansion-its also important to look to the future in how some of these events will actually work such as these "faction wars." Example being: Even in a runuo shard of 100+ its impossible to get a stable faction "war" fight for a prolonged period of time-the so called "overhaul" I belive would fit this community better at the time being.

I deff like the system we have going now. i agree with Fayt, what your suggesting is a big over haul. If you want a RunUO server then go play one. Prome is doing an awesome job with this shard. I have played alot of shards and i havent met any one as dedicated or legit as all the staff here. And Sacrifice is gonna be Unique, what we have now is just a start to get our town growing and right now Sacrifice is the most populated. This shard has only been open a couple months and we already have 50+ people online with 40 different IP's, I say we are doing just fine on the people joining. you might get more positive responses if you didnt jump on and try to change everything Prome has done to make this shard different from others.

I dont see why you get so defensive so quick, I never said that OMG CHANGE THIS GARBAGE, I think i even said there my opinions no need to say go back to RUNUO... And I don't know why this curropt staff is even being brought up? I mean I dont think thats a good advertise point by saying were not curropt so come to us? Are a lot of pol servers curropt or something-news to me anyways. And I'm happy with 40 unique IP's, what im saying though is that you can always try to get more through differn't avenues and not stop by simply saying hey we got 40 who cares from there. Really dissapointed when you say something like I jumped on the train and now i'm holding it hostage or something because thats complete garbage. My point is more like I get on the train and I'm saying hey your seats are very comfortable what if we add a foot rest to them and heated seats, what do you guys think? But instead of getting thoughtful replies I get-NO your wrong and what you said is complete shit please go away. Dude take a chill pill and say something else.

I liked mcfly's ideas. Also I would like to suggest a brand new map. That UO map is old, big and boring. For a small community like ours, I think a smaller map would fit better. About the town system, I think a lot of improvement is needed. Yesterday Jansen, the doctor, started a fight because some guy had a staff to take away his citizenship from Sacrifice. A system that empowers mayors with the ability to kick someone out of his town would certainly improve the gameplay.

i think we should make sundays siege days, rotation of every town. So we will create a schedule - Ok so you're thinking no way dude, a town of 5 people cant defend against a group of 30.
A town leader may have the ability to buy Siege armor, or buy extremely high level of monsters to guard the gates. This will all cost gold so the town must save up in the weeks prior to knowing there town will be sieged.
If a town is guarded successfully the owner of the town is given (lets say) 10 guard stones. These stones in return can be cashed in on a list made by prom 5 stones gets you X gold. 5 stones gets you X armor 5 stones gets you X etc etc 10 stones gets you Items etc 20.. 30. 100 stones gets you mad rare items.
Just shooting the shit here, bored at work. If it were up to me i would def add this, it keeps things constantly changing, and this would also show true power in the server.
SIDE NOTE: i think we need to add if you join a town faction, there is a time limit you must stay in and time limit to rejoin - this would limit the amount of "jumpers" for sieges.

I think McFly has some valid points, definitely. Welcome to the shard Marty! /Back to the Future reference For starters, the Faction War system has yet to be tested properly, because it can only be tested properly when one Faction declares war against another! For that reason there wont be any risk of loss to any of the towns involved in the early wars, whenever they finally happen, as there will probably be parts of the system we need to refine or change completely, depending on how things play out. Townstones will, hopefully within the next week or two, be completely upgraded. Me and a mate of mine have been working on them and soon mayors will be able to change things themselves using a mayor menu, much like the GuildMaster menu on a guildstone. The first screen on the townstone will show Town Name, Faction Name, Mayor Name, Population, the Town Treasury riches and a custom message from the mayor. Players will also be able to drag and drop money onto the townstone to add to the treasury, which the mayor can spend. The mayor menu, on the second screen of the townstone, will give the option to ban certain players from a town area by targeting and clicking them, an area to write a custom message displayed on the first screen, the option to turn on/off guards depending on whether there is enough money in the mayor's backpack and, maybe at a later date, some Faction War options. On top of that, the Regional Resources ensure player towns are slightly unique, as well as custom Faction colours. Also I know that at least the PTown of Avaron says it's illegal to place anything other than stone buildings, such as towers, small stone shops and small stone houses. On top of all that, I hope to award 'Triumphal Arches', like the ones in Rome, to the winners of Faction Wars. Thanks for the feedback McFly, I hope you can find a home here at Factions, any more comments/crits are welcome always
