SoS messages...?

So I'm curious, do the message in a bottle treasure maps actually work?

I went out sailing around (using automap), to a couple locations and was only able to see messages saying I couldn't get any fish here messages.

With a fishing of 113, I would think pulling up a treasure chest would be almost certain?

Hey mate,
when doing SoS messages you sail to the location, use ur fishing pole on the sos message u want to fish for and click the water
and u have to be in the exactly right location for it to appear.

you need to use a sextant to find the location i belive it will tell you right where to go and automap will bring you to the right area and the sextant will put u right on the exact spot use the pole click the sos map then click urself when ur standing right on the exact tile that the sextant says is same as sos map
