oh the other zulu based shard FantasiaZulu there are 2 main staff memebers who been scripting for 3 years for just 12-25 players lol but this guy edwards is really good at it. but one of his ideas was to make it so when ur starting a new char if ur going to be classed you start off at lvl 1, and that starts all skills for that class i think at 75. i think this might be a good idea to attract more people, i know alot of my friends wanted to play here from aMe days on zulu2 and cr but they do not want to start from scratch. and have to macro. specially seens how we cant use razor. just an idea. i know starting a classed char is pretty tedious, maybe if we can implement this more ppl will want to play as a bard

What's to stop the supposed classed character from straying away from their class, giving them a healthy chunk of skills macroed for being a level 1 equivalent of a pp?

I think this might be something to consider for the start of the [2nd Age].

-sigh- People and their overreacting to feedback.
Also; a smart player would go with thief and macro hiding a bit more and stealth as a pp. Or bard so they don't have the daunting task of figuring out a provoking macro. Which is one of the harder skills to macro; provoking.

I think it's a good idea to give new chars a minor skill boost. Maybe even a minor stat boost aswell. Not alot. Just a minor boost.
Maybe something like 3-4 skills to 70-75 and stats to 50-60.
Allso, one could make the starterpack contain a little more items or maybe just some more money.

Minor minor minor... Isnt this a Player vs Player server? Screw small boosts. Give people huge boosts like: Attributes (Int, Dex & Str) 100 in any 2 & 50 in 1 example: Str=100 Int=100 Dex= 50And skills, let people pick any "class group" to start at 100. Over powering? hell no. People want to PLAY not just sit around and macro macro macro. People are going to macro NO matter what they start with, so why not make it so they don't have to sit aroiund and macro as long? Back in the old days, there was big servers with tons of players. People didn't mind starting from scratch because there was tons of things to do aswell as lots of other people to interact with. Nowadays, with the coming of RunUO, POL, etc.. all offering freeware.. people find it easier to just start their own servers instead of wasting away macroing for months just to have a server owner decide to "end the world". You want to see MORE people here, with the already serious draw-back of not being able to Recall and so many NO-PK zones... then raise the starting boosts big time. Not being able to recall is sort of useless. Sure there are regional resources, but you can mine/lumberjack inside of a house AND you can own several dozens of houses.. "which means any single person can souly aquire any and all resources alone". .. So why bother trading anything when you can amass your own fortune.. the world isn't so big that you can't buy a boat (45,000gp) and travel to anywhere. Boat traveling is slow, but no worries because everyone and their brother has a vendor in Minoc... which also means you don't have to have actual "player" interaction (for the nobs, cuz everyone has a vendor). In fact, the best thing to look forward to at this moment, are the Sunday events.. but even then, they are no loot (probably no-pk too)... Funnest thing at this moment is popping the occasional idiot standing around macroing in Minoc... WHICH also points to some problems, like NPC vendors being seriously OVERSTOCKED!! .. on most older servers, a crafter could sell Scrolls and make a nice nest egg to build from, but not when any single vendor sells 500 scrolls at a time. Wanna see player interaction? Make people that want to sit around macroing, have to go out and collect those thousands of resources (reagents, etc.) from a few different towns.. not 2-3 vendors.

Giving a starting boost in general, is spitting in the face of the ZuluHotel feel. Any shard with "ZH" in it's name that gives boosts, needs to severly consider neutering themselves. Sure, we're pvp, but we're not a handout shard, we're not CR, we're not UnrealUO, and we're certainly not a RunUO shard. All of which give boosts or are ridiculously easy to gain on. As it stands, the need to macro is the ONLY thing giving the ZH feel of old days. Take that away and we may as well just be called Factions.

I'll 2nd that.
I know i've been asking for more lockpicks but that's because thieves are forgotten about when everybody else gets it easy.
Make it so people can't buy everything from npc's and crafters will be needed a whole lot more.
People will need to buy fields and harvest reags. people will need to make arrows. Have somebody start a chicken farm lol ^_^ maybe a bit too far but you get the general idea.
If the whole idea of this shard is to get people interacting and having specific areas to increase trade between factions then stuff like this would help a lot. Brit would be a major attration for mages as it has the farm land to the SW. Maybe let factions buy chicken coops for their towns to harvest feathers (thinking out loud). Maybe have nightshade growing in swamps or the sewers and black pearl in caves and dungeons. Give the noobs something a bit different to do.
I collected up 20k arrows in no time at all earlier. That's a lot of trading if somebody had to work for it.
