Could you boost sales of lockpicks and poison pots to help us noob thieves seeing as though rangers and mages get an easy ride? I'm guessing that's just a case of adding a few 0's to a number in a cfg file somewhere. Sure np. Any news on this prom? I'm waiting to start lockpicking

Was doing some stealing the other day and was thinking it would be nice if thieves could have something similar to what rangers have in the way of sos bottles. Not really thought it through but a few ideas to get a discussion started: - level of map is random like sos.
- Maybe only steal-able from a thief npc or maybe the level of map is dependent on the difficulty of the person snooped.
- Could call it "sealed message" (or something equally as mysterious ^_^) and can only be opened by lockpicking (would give lockpicking some purpose).
- The location could be somewhere hard to get to like the the bottom of a dungeon or an unused dead end. Possibly in the lost lands in an orc fort or somewhere with lots of npc's.
- snooping on the ground or on a tree or a rock could open it "you have found a secret compartment".
- Could have the messages rare with alright -> good loot and regular spots like tmaps, or common with crap -> good loot and lots of randoms spots like sos bottles.
1. Agree. 2. What about being lootable as regular treasure maps from monsters. 3. IMHO great idea, instead of cartography youl need lockpicking or stealing(someting like, its not just regular treasure map, but some ancient scroll, so it would require extreme caution unwrapping, instead of decoding). 4. 3-4 fixed spawns in every dungeon per level. After scroll is decoded a chest appear there, locked(and only 1 chest per spawn, so that there cant be 3-4 thiefs opening scrolls and 3-4 chests appear and then starts the race, who will get there first). Thief gets there, and instead of fighting monsters have just lockpick it - offcourse, higher lvl chest needs higher level lockpicking(but even low lvl chests should be hard to pick). Chests would have lifetime of 2-3 hours, after that its gone. To know wheres treasure is, short messages could be written in scrolls - like "Ancient treasure is located in depts of a dungeon not far north from Britain(Minax)", which would point to Despise(for the sake of drama, could be added some crap like "beware of evils that lurk within"). Or even coordinates to that chest, so it could be even easier to find.
