I feel like factions need to get into the RPing spirit a little bit more maybe, or at least take charge of their domains and govern them from their Faction Discussion Sections. Each mayor has the right to enforce their own rules and request to the staff for anything they think of doing. Infected, as mayor of Dral, has requested lots of interesting things and has received an Undead RPing racegate, located on top of the Covetous mountains and accessible by a small winding path, and we have plans to place one or two houses *on top* of the mountains there too, to make it unique. Hz, for Magincia, maybe if you purchase a bunch of sandstone patio houses and those two story houses we placed for you recently, I'll .createmulti them around the town, transfer ownership to you, and you can sell them to prospective citizens. That's the kind of thing that could/should be happening. Faction citizens should live *inside* the towns they own imho. I notice you Magincia guys spend most of your time in your large tower, which is nowhere near Magincia (not that it's your fault, since you haven't had a place to live inside Magincia until now...). This is more of a stream of consciousness rather than anything constructive, but you get the idea ;D

Heres how you make people join a town. I know its harsh, but it will work. If you want to place a house, you must be part of a town and place it within that town. Only way to place a house. Also add where players can buy houses or inn spots within a town such as minoc or Minax formerly Britain.

Also add where players can buy houses or inn spots within a town such as minoc or Minax formerly Britain. That would be cool if people could actually buy/rent a room at a static inn. Maybe get a secure "crate" aswell as a room key, etc.

there is no need for this - too easy to get 100k for a house, that offers more.
I also think the only way to place a house would be within the walls of an already setup town, or you MUST start your own town, which required a much bigger investment. Most players would opt to join a town until they can get enough loot for bigger enterprise.

I like the idea about placing the sandstone patio houses and two story sandstone houses around town, to be sold to other players. There will be an issue about space thou... Remember our Venice idea? hint hint

Sort of like Vesper yeah. The difference being Vesper is build on small islands. Our "Venice" won't be. + Vesper is quite too far away from Magincia to be part of the town

Missing the basis of my pming him. We're doing exactly as he wished with player towns... is nobody the least bit outraged by the fact that it's being taken from us because we fulfilled his want for us to be spread out and have mystery?

Im not sure wether or not i think it's a good idea to stop player town building. I would be very dissapointed if i had looked forward to building my own town and suddenly i couldn't, cause i wasn't fast enough. The problem seems to be that there isn't enough player interaction. Therefor one solution could be freezing town building and making people join the towns allready build.
Im not sure it's gonna work thou. If we, Avengers, didnt allready own Magincia, we would just wait til the townbuilding option got unfrozen before doing anything. Don't think we would join another town.

i think people are over reacting - If every single person on the server has there own town wtf is the point. there needs to be something that regulates this, whether it be making it more challenging to create a town, or offering much better benefits to joining a town.

You got some good points Orbital. It should be more challenging to start a town. You said something earlier about one only being able to place/buy a house within an allready established town, else one would have to start their own town right away, which would be alot more costly. That could be a solution + making it more expensive to buy a townstone than it is now.
Gonna think about some benefits for citizens. Allready thought of a few. Gonna post more when im about to make them happen.

I think you're right Orbital, creating a town just needs to be more difficult. I think I'll script a rare item, which can be found equally on a Balrog or a slime, and you'll need like 10 of them before you're allowed to start a town.
