hello there i am a lowly bowcrafter and was wondering if it was possible to include more ranged weapons. there are an abundance on some of the newer UO upgrades and i think it would be nice to see a little more variety here. btw i think the shard is great anyway!

Hi Lakelui - what kinds of other weapons did they have?

there are repeating crossbows composite shortbows composite longbows and a yumi (japanese longbow) they are nonmagical, but with the addition of a 'recipe' there are assassins bow rangers bow barbed bow blight bow lightweight bow mighty bow mystical bow magical bow the night reaper also from an historic point of view there are different kinds of ammunition such as, barbed arrows(good against non armoured foes) piercing arrows(good for armoured targets) fowling blunts(more for trauma than actual damage)

Make them a pain in the arse to make. Maybe like 10 dispel pots with pagans makes 1 arrow. Not sure how you'd select that arrow to use. Maybe you'd have to make the bow into a dispell bow and the lvl of it is the cast rate. Or double click the bow and select the type of arrow.

Better idea, and make it require being a ranger to do. The ability to dip arrows into certain mixtures (made via mage), that way it's more realistic than a crafter making these tipped arrows, as a ranger would be most likely to use it. With the exception of an immolating arrow, that'd require a crafter.

id say that dispel arrows could be weaker than regular ones as for dmg(if its possible) and have about 5-20% chance to dispel

If we are talking about adding extra bows. The last shard i played on had a bow called Warbow or War Cross Bow. I thought they were awesome looking and had a little bit higher damage then a reg bow, etc..so they would be very low chance of looting it. But i like the idea with different arrows. but would be hard as hell swaping arrows in and out to use. So maybe just bring back Black rocks and other weapons.

i like the idea of being able to make arrows for potions. if you were to be able to craft glass tipped arrows which would then be able to be mixed with certain potions which could be 50 or 25% effective due to the small quantity able to go into the glass tip. maybe to make arrow selection easier in combat you would be able to double click on arrow types to make them the 'primary' arrows that your bow/xbow would fire. this would stilll limit their usage a bit as they are designed for if you have a certain target(s) in mind and not for general power playing.

The pp's are just afraid of balance and them not being the alpha in the pack that is Factions.
Or is it really just Northlands that's afraid of balance?
My bet's the latter.
