Now that we seem to be gaining new faces and old Maybe we need to kick around some event ideas that could be looked forward to every month/weekend instead of the normal bash a monsters head in Sunday. Maybe a different event every weekend: I suggested to Evoker a sort of CTF of course this event because of PvP may bring fear into the heart of noobies... Some sort of battle royal would be awesome-Would be even better if everyone brought a brand new character and tried to fight with it-or if the premade lvl 1 classes were instituted it would bring a really cool balancing system into play. More ideas post below.

Scavenger hunt:
A GM creates several locked down items all over UO with hints to where the next item will be located. At the end of the hunt there is a prize?

the scavenger hunt actually a sounds like a great idea now that recalling is so limited, everyone doesn't have access to all over the map so it would take a while and be fun

Yeah and they can combine it with some PVM, putting hints at the back of the dungeons.

I started a scavenger hunt about 20 mins ago. The clues are small books that contain hints to the next location. The books are dyed the Ice Rock hue, and the first one is locked down at minoc bank. Edit: Because people keep editing the book: The first clue is in a location known for Undead activity.

Maybe next scavenger hunt, put the next hint on location only after the hint leading towards it has been found.
The player who finds it has to .chat a codeword or something so you know when to place it.

Could you do a word activated thing like the "no pk" doors so you have to find a password for the next box or area. Just thinking out loud with no particular direction

Maybe there should be an 'event ideas and discussion' section of the forum. A big mash of event ideas people can add to and suggest changes to. It would help the gm's to develop more interesting events.
I can spout ideas for hours and i'm sure some of them would be half decent. Would be nice to have somewhere to spout them.

Thanks again to the staff for last night's events, we had a blast. Killing the rats was fun, and CTF was great, even with all the chaos. I had some ideas for CTF, so I'll post them here so we can discuss them. The problem with people looting eachother could be solved by making all the equipment blessed. Some measures would have to be taken to prevent people from leaving with it though. (Or just let dekar do his thing to people for an hour if they do ) About the walls, you could either say: no walls allowed (does this include fields, like para, poison?) or, just allow them. It encourages teamwork, as the team will need to make sure the mage survives in the enemy base to dispell the walls. If CTF turns out to be popular, the thing could be expended some, so more people are able to join. By using existing players, some people really dominate (Mastasook in last nights game for example). This is fun in some way, but also means that weaker characters and crafters have no real way to participate. To work around that, you can have people make new characters for the CTF event. They spawn(or get summonned) to the CTF starting area, where they have classgates to choose from. Lets say Warrior, Mage and Ranger. Stepping in one drops all your skills, then gives you a set amount in the class skills (say 100) and gives you the gear for that class. Since these are new characters, they can also join a guild for their colour, Blue and Red. The guilds will be at war, and the teams will have guild/team chat. Obviously, this requires a lot of work setting up once, but makes it easier to re-run the event. Its probably only worth it if enough people want to play it, and be somewhat mature about it.

Hehe I remember there being a CTF racegate at the racegate area in ZH3 exactly like you are describing. And altho I do agree with making a new char for this is more fair etc, it also takes away abit of the magic..
