Just doing my usual quiet lunch break pondering. What perks do you get from owning a town? I was thinking of a few ideas to make buying a town more profitable: Profit - have a chest in each shop that gets 10% of all cash spent in that shop. The mayor/faction effectively gets their good cheaper as he gets 10% of everything he spends back and they get a small portion of money back from their initial investment. Private time - There could be a shop stone in each shop that can lock the door as long as a member of the faction is in the shop. My thinking is that the owners of the town should be able to macro in a safe shop. They can lock the door for as long as they want as long as they stay inside the shop e.g. a crafter using tailoring. This way they can buy all the materials they want and not be scared of getting pked. Once they are finished, the shop is open to anybody that wants to use it again. got a few more ideas I'll pop on later but i gtg back to work

Yeah, having the town generate some revenue would be nice, it's quite an expensive hobby to spawn one.
As for the second part, if you own a Town you can get (part of) it walled of. In Britain, British Castle is restricted to Legion members. We have paid for a scribe vendor in there, so I can buy my scrolls safely.

Any player can donate to a town via the townstone, and I don't think those perks with locking doors and things are really what a shard wants.
