I'm going to have to disagree with the macroing policy here. I understand that the point of this policy is to keep players active. However, what will happen is that players who are not macroing will simply log off and the player base will drop.
In other words, you won't see an increase in activity because of macro checks, you will simply kick offline anyone macroing, which doesn't contribute to the shard at all.
Besides, a lot of us simply ENJOY to macro. I personally like to macro my crafter, or warrior. I like the idea of setting it up, then going out to my real life and coming back several hours later to see the progress.

Doesn't change the fact.

Recently I've been inclined to agree with you Norman.

The thing is, one of the rules which will make us slightly different from other ZH shards is our 1 Account per IP rule. I had kinda thought that it would mean more Power Players playing, people caring a lot more for just the one character, more roleplayers, and perhaps even a decrease in the need to macro, since they'd prefer to be having fun (although there is a kind of perverse, therapeutic soothing nature to the grind of gradual skill increase, lol).
Anyway, you'll be happy to know I've been unable to get the .killmacro command working, lol. So we'll either have to conduct macro tests on a per person basis (which is kind of unfair), or forgo macro tests to begin with.

There's nothing wrong with that sort of player inflation. All it will do it make the shard seem like there's more people.
You don't really have a valid argument for the economy. It will do what to the economy? You'll have more items? Whats your point? How is that bad for the economy?

Only 1 account per person so that players care more for their characters. You can still have two accounts, but you wont be able to be logged onto both of them at one time.

Truth is there is not much outside of blank scrolls and maybe goddess and high end ores that you can get from running a character 24/7 anyways, and the crafted items economy has always been really hurting as everyone invests time into making all their own characters it just means they are going to spend more time macroing and with the little time allowed you will have many discouraged players and even less of a playerbase because they are going to get tired of the macro times and the length of time to make a character and just find another shard/game to play, so far I have not seen much in the ways of creating a successful shard on these forums, seems like more rules and less freedoms. Its more geared towards those whom have no life and can literally sit at their computer for 3 days straight without worldly responsibilities.

If you're going to make macro times then do it like zh chronicles and allow the user to "start" the macro time, rather then some generic world time.

I don't intend to do any macro times or macro checks now, at least not at the start - we'll see how things go. I can't remember where I wrote that before but I'm pretty sure I did.
Early evening Europe-time until late evening North America time will always be the period whilst players are most active anyway. If the majority are going to macro at the same time, makes little sense to see macro hours as an absolute necessity.
We'll see how things go anyway.
