Why we become gray when we hit a mob with a poisoned weapon?

shouldnt become grey, unless u attack a blue mob like celstial or heavenly drake, and with bows u attack them when they target u, but u have to hit them, to turn grey

I become gray every time a hit a red mob (balron, balrog, GD, SD) with my poisoned bow, can you check it please?
